The Last Blog

Well this semester has basically ended. There is only a couple more assignments left. All my classes will end by the end of next week. I have a couple 2 finals left and two assignments to turn in. I know it doesn't seem like that much but these assignments are very crucial to my grade. Just screwing up in one of these can bring me down to grades that are not acceptable by the school or by me. So lately I have been trying to do a little of each assignment every day in order to finish them on time. I know this is probably not the ways to do things but this is the only way I can do things right now. Since this semester didn't go exactly as planned. I Feel that the reason it didn't go so well is because I did not exactly know what I wanted out of school. And after a whole year I have realized that I do want to be in school and learn new things. This is because I can't see myself without going to school or working a minimum paying job that I don't like. I know school doesn't guarantee me a job but it does increase the opportunity of working in a field that I would enjoy. Next semester I will try my best to improve from all the mistakes I have made this year.

Music Class

Music class has definitely been one of my most enjoyable classes this semester. I just really enjoy learning about different types of instrument. I like it because the sounds they make are very beautiful, different, and entertaining. I also enjoy the background of the composers as well as the music they produce. I wouldn't say I like it the way I like rap but I do enjoy all the different type of sounds. The class also requires us to attend four school concerts. So far I have attended one and it was not the funnest concert I have been to. It's probably because it was a quire concert. Which is not really my cup of tea for starters they sang in a different language and the there was no instrument. This made it kind of boring but there was a couple people who hit some very beautiful notes. I also saw some of my classmates from another class perform. I did not know they were in quire which really surprised me to see them there. Seeing them also brought a bit more enjoyment to the concert. I have planned to go to my second concert next monday with my friend. This one is supposed to have instruments which has me a bit more excited about attending this concert. Overall I really enjoy this class the teacher has a good sense of humor and is very chill the only problem is that there is minimal talking in the class which kind of sucks since I would really like to talk about the music with my classmates.

Semester Coming to a Close

The year is finally coming to a close. This brings me happiness because it means that I will have officially completed a year of college something that I have always wanted to do. It is almost unbelievable how fast  time has passed by. At the same time I am also very worried about my classes this semester. This is because there is only around six weeks left of school. I had not realized that there was only this amount of time left till I was reminded today in both this english class and music class. But this six weeks of school are the most important because they are packed with points. Most of my classes still have half or over half of the total point that have to be earned. So this next few weeks are going to be some of the busiest so I can maintain or raise my grades. For example i am still have to go to three more music concerts for my music class in the next six weeks. Aside from things that impact my grades I also have to figure out which classes I have to take next semester.  I have realized that in this amount of time I have to really hang on tight and finish this semester as best as I could. To finish of the semester I plan to study hard and use my time wisely. I know it won't be the easiest thing to do but I know I will be worth it.

Friends

Making friends in college has not been as easy as I thought it would be. At first I thought that I was going to make friends in every class I had but that is not even close to what has happened. Last semester I made friends in only one of my five classes. I only keep in touch with about one of them. This semester I have made a bit more class friends and like one regular friend. I feel like I don't make to many friends in school because most of my classes are in the morning and it's usually when I don't feel like talking. Although I haven't made many friends in class I have made some friends outside of class. These people also attend stan they are a bit older than me which I actually like because I get to learn more from them since they have more experience with college. This people usually always give me advice about school and like talking about how school is going. I feel like making friends in college is a big part of the college experience because I feel like I would get different types of college experiences hanging out with different people. Allowing me to find different things to do and what type of people I enjoy spending time with.

What I have learned from people

Since the beginning of college I have noticed a totally different vibe in students. So far from what I have seen most people portray a character that seems to be mature and to themselves. Which is good because it creates a professional atmosphere for students. For me being in this type of atmosphere has allowed me to learn how to behave around certain people and focus on school when im there. I am learning how to talk to professional people like professors and other different types of educational workers. Which i believe will come in handy when i'm at a higher education also for out of school environments like work and public places. When I am in class I feel like most people are there because they want to learn and become who ever they want to become which drives me to do the same. Although this is the atmosphere that im getting from this school there is definitely much more going on on behind the character that most people portray once I started talking to people. I found out how they really felt about this school and I also found out that there is so much you can learn from someone. For example I met people that truly love school and spent most of their day there and I have also met people who don't like it and want to move to a different college. By talking to people I have also received so much advice of how to make it through.

My Courses this Semester

This semester I decided to take five courses which is the same amount I took last semester. I wanted to take five courses because last semester i took the same amount of classes but did not end up doing as well as I would have liked to. So this semester I wanted to prove to myself that I can do better if I gave school more effort and find a way to balance things out. The courses I am taking right now are. English, Italian, Group discussion, Biology, and music. The courses that I find the most difficult are english and italian. English has been a difficult subject for me since I was little. I have alway had trouble writing and speaking. I'm just really bad at wording. Even though I do have trouble I am trying to improve my writing by conversing. Which is working because I find a bit less difficult to express myself in speech and writing. The second course that has been difficult for me is Italian I chose this class because it is a subject that I have never been exposed to. At first it was very interesting but intimidating. It was interesting because the teacher only spoke italian which I was amused by the way she sounded, but it was intimidating because I was going to have to speak like her just at a lower level. In this class I always have homework and always have to practice new fraces. It has been difficult to remember all the different conjugations. She quizzes us on some conjugations and I usually don't do so well on those. Although these courses are difficult for me I am trying to stay on top of things and study so I can do better than last semester.

A Place to Study

These past few days I have been looking for a place where I could focus on my homework and studying. I used to always leave my homework for home but lately it has been difficult for me to do homework at home. This is because there is always someone making some type of noise. For example my siblings socialising or someone watching t.v or blasting music. The noise is a problem because some days when i'm tired I find it really irritating and hard for me to concentrate. I also have a tendency of putting homework of when i'm home because i get to comfterbol and end up taking a nap, playing video games, hanging out with my brothers, or using my phone. So thats why im trying to find a place to do homework besides home. I've tried finding places to study. I have gone to the library and so far it seems like the most ideal place to do my homework and studying but I get lazy and don't go because I don't want to spend more time in school, don't pack lunch, or just want to go home. Funny enough I have tried doing homework in the gym. My gym has some tables to hang out at which is where i do h.w sometimes and oddly enough I find myself very focused there. But I don't like doing it there because I feel like people will judge me because the gym is to workout not study. So I think I am just going to keep going to the library and find another place so I can alternate between the two

Rough Start

This semester has had a rough start do to my irresponsibility. This all began within the first days of school. I had not bought all of my text books for school. I had waited till the last minuet to see if professors would allow older versions of the books or if the books were not really required. So since I bought books online I had to wait over a week for some books which resulted in me falling behind in some classes. In my italian class I had ordered a textbook through amazon and I did not pay close attention to the ISBN number and ended up buying the wrong book. Not did I wast my money on a book I did not need but also delayed the arrival of the actual text book I needed. Besides being irresponsible for not buying the books on time as well as the wrong books. I also have forgot my Iclicker for one of my classes and ended up receiving a zero on a quiz I could have gotten a 80 or above. Scene I also have a part time job I tend to get put off doing homework or studying at times which is really not helping me at all. I also got sick and had to miss a few of my class which I ended up missing out on somme important material. A Lot of theses minor setbacks could have been avoided if I had been responsible and prepared for school. Now I am trying to get in the groove of things so I won't fall behind anymore.

LOST KEYS

The first day of class was a disaster for starters I went completely the opposite way from where my class suppose to be. So I had to rush across campus to make it on time to my biology class . Then when I got out of class I noticed that my car keys were missing. At first I thought I must have left them in class so I went back and checked there were nowhere to be found. Then I thought they must have fallen when I was rushing across campus so I retraced my steps and there was nothing. I finally decided to go to the sheriff's station to check if someone had turned them in they had no intel on them. So I called my dad to ask him if there was a spare key to my car he said that there wasn't any. At this point I was super stressed because now I had no way to get into my car much less drive home. So I made a few phone calls to places that specialise in keys but they said there was nothing they could do. Then my dad got in contact with a locksmith who said he could make me a key. This was some of the best news I had heard all day. He said he would be there at 5pm but did not show up till 7pm. It was frustrating waiting for him but I was so relieved when he turned on the car. The only other thing that sucked was that he charged me 150 dollars.
